Morphed 2
Morphed 2
Morphed 2 is a 36x48" mixed-media abstract painting on a basswood panel with an archival varnish. It is a delightful graphic pattern of deconstructed Lepidoptera patterns in cyan, magenta, and yellow. It is an eye-catcher from any angle. This painting is the genesis of all paintings in the morphed series. Drawing and painting the composition, layers, shapes, and colors took months.
Morphed 2 fits into a modern decor with bold patterns, colors, and shapes. It adds warmth, harmony, and rhythm to an interior space.
Morphed is a new series of abstract expressionism paintings with mixed media on basswood panels. They are protected with an archival varnish. This series began when I lived in California and wanted to replace my grass with xeriscape gardens that were beneficial for pollinators.
I aim to illuminate the importance of pollinators and the urgent need to protect their habitats. With the declining populations of butterflies and other pollinating insects, we face a looming threat to global food security and ecological stability. I strive to raise awareness of this pressing environmental issue through my art.
The vibrant and dynamic colors in my paintings, using over 80 butterfly patterns, mirror the diversity and vitality of pollinators, highlighting the symbiotic relationship they share with the natural world. As viewers engage with my artwork, I hope they are inspired to pause, reflect, and consider pollinators' immense impact on our lives. By cultivating an appreciation for the intricate dance of nature, we can foster a sense of interconnectedness and compassion towards all living beings.
