Apollo

Apollo is a 20x20" mixed media abstract painting on a basswood panel, finished with an archival varnish.

Apollo fits into a modern decor with bold patterns, colors, and shapes. It adds warmth, harmony, and rhythm to an interior space.

It is part of my new series, Morphed, which features abstract expressionism paintings using watercolor, gouache, and sumi ink on basswood panels. These pieces are protected for posterity with an archival varnish. The inspiration for this series came while I was living in California, where I wanted to replace my grass with xeriscape gardens beneficial for pollinators. I hope to shed light on the importance of pollinators and the immediate need to safeguard their habitats. With the declining populations of pollinating insects, such as butterflies, we face a critical threat to global food security and ecological stability. I aim to raise awareness of this urgent environmental issue through my art. By incorporating over 80 butterfly patterns in my vibrant and dynamic paintings, I seek to capture the diversity and vitality of pollinators.
